RL finished at third place during 2008 season and was totaly ready not to repeat this low result in 2009. Unfortunatelly economical crisis had striked and we had to cut squad, to cut sallaryes and cut the ammount of paintballs to shoot during practices, but all these couldn't efect us badly.
We start the 2009 season low but we made sunday everytime. It has been very hard not to win events because it is not usual for RL. After some squad changes when people were replaced at the field positions we had an immediate reslt in Chicago(the most unlucky tournament for RL). There we have established our microclimate, style of game and very effective coaching.
Coming to the Cup we were 100% ready to work as hard as we never did before. Weather in Orlando showed us during the practice that WC09 will not be easy at all. Inspite of all hard games agains Damage, Impact, Joy and Dynasty we haven't lost our minde and kept doing our job at the field. Those hard practices had helped us a lot, because everybody found he's own place in team: Dave Bains has become our true capitan, he was able to talk the very right words in all hard situations and all respected him and listened to him carefully, Matt and Justin become a very strng pair at snake side, Maloi become a very dangerous brake shooter and active back player, Mishka,Kirill and Sergey by their rotating at taco side become very unpredictable, Vasia and Dima started to play very agressive at the snake side no matter hot weather.
Traditionally the first match of the tournament was hard for us with all penaltyes and adgustments, but it gave us a very positive impulse for the rest days.
We all worked for 200% to get a World Cup: coaches controled every moment of the game(Sergey improved their job well), Dave kept controling our mindes and focus great, Jrob been accumulating his game abilityes during all the tuornament and in the finals he was shining bright, Matt managed to recover quick after the first Phily match and started to shoot a lot people of the brake, Maloi showed an outstanding game in different blinde zones, Vasia was unstopable at the snake, Sergei found his place everywhere at the field, Mishka and Kirill showed some very professional stuff at tacos, Dima helped our team outside the field by screaming from the sidelines, carying the paint, loading, giving info, pit crew team stoped making mistakes and worked like clocks.
Well, all put their part in this victory. All people who were cheering for rus at the stands did a great help for us and all those who cheered for us at home all over the world did their best by believing in us.
But there were several interesting mistical things too: during the first day Sergey has found an iphone at the fields....and return it to te owner, Maloi and Vasia didn't make photoshoots throughout the tournamnet and after the final match when team was going to the cars the rainbow raised right over our field...

RL finished very high in 2009 season wining both Cup and the Series. Now Legion knows how to win again, we have a strong squad and we will do our best to step higher next year, because we are the only one real PROFESSIANAL team in the world.
